It's one of our most iconic buildings, and on top of a beautiful front the interior and surrounding buildings and grounds offer some stunning and unique images.
Just a short walk from our city centre is the Grade II listed Lido. An outdoor swimming pool that's always packed on hot summer days, the embankment and gardens offer some interesting perspectives on this prestigious building.
Built in 1670-1 in celebration of the restoration of Charles II, the Guildhall sits right in the heart of our city, nestled between our cathedral and St John's Church. It's the backdrop for many an event and on 4 July 2012 it was even the starting point for the Olympic flame's journey as part of its relay tour of the United Kingdom ahead of the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Peterborough Museum opened in 1931 but the building started out as the private residence of local magistrate, Thomas Alderson Cooke J.P. who commissioned the build in 1816. After his death in 1854 it was used as an infirmary until1928 - which has given rise to plenty of tales of hauntings and ghostly apparitions in the building.
One of the most important Bronze Age sites in Europe is right here in Peterborough! The marshy land of the fens has preserved the homes, walkways, and even boats, of our ancestors from 3,000 years ago! A large proportion of the park remains outdoors for an authentic experience.
A tranquil space next to the Cathedral grounds. It's a serene escape just a stone's throw from the hustle and bustle of our city centre.
Ferry Meadows is one of the largest country parks in the region and is a favourite site for families, cyclists, amblers, anglers, and nature lovers alike. It's only three miles from Peterborough city centre and a central part of Nene Park, but its varied landscapes of meadows, lakes, and woodland make it the favourite destination all year round, and a brilliant location for budding photographers to test out different techniques and angles.
It's not just the building that's worth capturing on film at Burghley House. The grounds offer some spectacular shots and plenty of chances to get the unique snap!
With a busy events schedule of markets and festivals coupled with our diverse communities means pounding the pavement is a great chance for photographers keen to capture life around modern-day Peterborough.
Nene Valley Railway is the UK’s leading international steam attraction, with five stations starting at Wansford (just off the A1), and going to Overton (at Ferry Meadows), Orton Mere, Yarwell Junction, and Peterborough by Railworld Wildlife Haven.
It's a living heritage railway and a thriving attraction for the public to enjoy all year round. The attraction's steam trains, buildings, and rail infrastructure can make for some fantastic images.
