Always wanted to sing but weren’t sure you could? These three workshops are the perfect antidote. . Each session is 1 hour long and covers different techniques, detailed below.
Monday: Introduction to Singing
This first introduction to singing workshop will begin with a few warm up exercises focusing on basic breathing control with some simple tongue twister and scales. Using these skills, we will learn a simple song which participants will be able to have a backing track to sing to.
Wednesday: Using Our Voice
This session builds on previous skills learned and putting them into practice. The session will begin by repeating the warm ups learned in the previous session and adding a few simple warm up exercises. We will then learn a complete song line by line whilst practicing new techniques. Once the song is learned, we will learn a little about dynamics and singing.
Friday: Different Types of Song
How might we choose a song to learn? We will begin with a warm up as in previous sessions with a view to being able to warm up on our own. We will then look at three different songs and sing through them noting the difference between them and how might use dynamics to give them expression, building on the previous session.
Please note priority for this activity will be given to those with less experience.
