Alternative Walks
Your walk. Your way.
What to expect on the day
Take the shorter 2km walk for a gentle stroll around the lovely lakeside which is suitable for Memory Walkers of all ages including pushchairs and wheelchairs. The longer 6km walk will take you further into the park, along Gunwade Lake, with a mixture of tarmac and grass paths so don’t forget your wellies and walking boots! Please note all routes and distances are subject to change.
All routes will start and finish at Coney Meadow, where there will be a hive of activity to get everyone ready for Memory Walk. Please note the event site is on grass. Amongst the excitement take a moment to reflect on who you are walking for by leaving a message on the Memory Tree and watch it blossom through the day.
How to get there
Memory Walk will start and finish at Coney Meadow, which is located near to the Visitor’s Centre and tarmac car park.
Event Parking is available at Ferry Meadows, please use postcode PE2 5UU and follow Memory Walk signage on the approach to the venue. For £2 parking please use the QR code at the pay machines before departure. Payment needs to be made before departure, otherwise the barriers won't open at exit. Please pay just prior to departure as once your payment is complete you have 20 minutes to return to your vehicle and exit the Park. The code will be detailed in your welcome letter.
Please arrive in good time to avoid queues, and note that parking is on grass. Hard standing parking is available for blue badge holders.
Memory Walkers can be dropped off on entry to the venue, before the yellow barrier. To keep Peterborough environmentally friendly please choose the most sustainable method of transport and car share where possible.
Registration will close Thursday 12th September 2019 and you will not be able to register at the event. So sign up now and get your team members to do so too!
