After the great success of our animal experiences at Sacrewell, we are back with another this summer holidays. A Summer Equine Experience.
Throughout the school holidays the livestock team will be welcoming groups of up to 6 people to get hands-on with our equines and assist with their daily routine. Come and meet our Shetland ponies, British spotted ponies and donkeys. Luna, Tramp, Betty, Myrtle, Winnie, Mr Mint, Marina and Splash are excited to see you.
Tasks include:
- Taking the small equines for a walk around the site
- Brushing and grooming them
- Healthcare checks
To ensure the welfare of our equines (and that we are adhering to the five freedoms) we are inviting a maximum of 6 people daily to book an equine experience. The sessions will take place from 3-4pm Tuesday - Thursday throughout the school holidays. You will have the chance to get up close with our equines and help care for them.
Children can enjoy this animal experience, the youngest age able to attend this session would be 6 years old. The minimum age requirement to walk one of the equines alone would be 11 years old. All 6-11 years old would require one paid adult accompanying each child. In this instance, please book two tickets to the session.
The Summer Equine Experience lasts 1 hour, please report to reception on arrival at 3pm and a member of the livestock team will come and greet you.
Please note you will not have access to the play park, play barn or any other facilities at Sacrewell this is purely just an animal experience. Should you wish to spend time at Sacrewell prior to the equine experience please book general admission ticket(s) too. The animal experience ends at 4pm and you will be guided off site.
Sensible footwear must be worn - trainers, wellies, walking boots. Any person(s) wearing sandals, flip-flops or open-toed shoes will not be able to participate.
We hope you can join us!
