Castle Farm Guest House is in a picturesque riverside location. This tastefully converted farmhouse sits at one end of what is arguably one of the county's most historical & well known villages.
The accommodation offered is to a high standard of comfort & cleanliness. Across the garden is the mound of the castle, where Richard III was born in 1452 & the ill fated Mary Queen of Scots, spent her last days before execution in 1587.
Fotheringhay is ideally situated for easy access to main routes, offering a peaceful & relaxing escape at the end of the day and making an ideal base for the businessman.
We offer a friendly, relaxed atmosphere with a 'home-from-home' feel, and for dining there are various alternatives, both here in the village & within a short drive.
The location offers private fishing from the end of the garden & many other opportunities are available locally. The surrounding area is also ideal for walking, cycling & sailing at nearby Rutland Water.
Fotheringhay is in a good central position with easy access to main roads & towns, the East of England Showground & Oundle, Oakham & Uppingham Schools.
River fishing available from garden Bluebell Lakes within 1.5 miles. Historical setting. Easy access to A1, A605, A47. Cycle storage available.
Local places of interest include:
St. Mary's & All Saints Church, here in the village.
Burghley House, home of the Cecil Family for over 400 years at nearby Stamford.
Rockingham Castle built by William the Conqueror.
Elton Hall, owned by the Proby Family since early 17th century.
