The John Clare Theatre is a comfortable theatre that has 144 seats and 2 wheelchair spaces, plus a stage.
It is located within the Central Library Building and adjoins the LP Hartley room making the two rooms ideal for presentations and meetings combined.
The LP Hartley room is a meeting room that can be booked separately or with the John Clare Theatre and has the following capacity:
22 people boardroom style.
35 people theatre style.
20 people in horseshoe style.
Eating and drinking is not permitted in the John Clare Theatre but is permitted in the LP Hartley room and cups, saucers, teaspoons and plates can be provided on request.
The rooms are situated on the first floor and disabled access is available via a lift. There is also disabled parking next to the building and several pay and display car parks are within walking distance.
We also have the Zone meeting room which is accessible from the Reference Library on the first floor. This has the same capacity as the L P Hartley Room, but without a kitchen area, so a kettle, plastic cups and cup holders can be provided for your refreshments.

The John Clare Theatre is a comfortable theatre seating 144 & is ideal for business presentations & small stage productions. The adjacent LP Hartley room is ideal for boardroom style meetings & as a refreshment room when using the theatre.
By Road:From A1 take A1139 to P'b to Boongate exit. Take first exit off roundabout and at next roundabout take 2nd exit into New Road. Turn right at the end of New Road onto Northminster and the library is at the end of this road on the opposite corner of Broadway. As you turn onto Northminster there is a multi storey on your left, by the market, or you can turn right again into Brook Street to park. The library is then a 3 or 4 minute walk.The nearest railway station is Peterborough, which is 1 mile away.
