The City Academy of Ballet is very pleased to be returning to the Key for their annual showcase on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th July with dancers of all ages displaying their skills in a mixed bill of classical ballet, national and contemporary dance.
The show will open with a lively Mazurka by senior ballet classes and the ‘Seasons of the Year’ will then be celebrated to music by Vivaldi, Gershwin and Saint Saens. The senior contemporary class aim to uplift everyone’s spirits with ‘Mr Blue Sky’ by Electric Light Orchestra and younger dancers will perform to music by Taylor Davis and Miriam Makeba.
The performance will close with the traditional classical finale to music by Khachaturian after which successful pupils will be presented with certificates and awards achieved for examinations in ballet and contemporary dance.
