Peterborough Cathedral

"An undiscovered gem". With magnificent Norman architecture, a unique 13th-century nave ceiling, the awe-inspiring West Front and burial places of two queens to make your visit an unforgettable experience. Exhibitions and a timeline of artefacts in the Cathedral Visitor Centre within the Precincts tell the Cathedral's story. Guided tours of the Cathedral are available Monday to Saturday, with tower tours during the summer months and candlelight tours in the winter. There is a gift shop inside the Cathedral and a restaurant and tea room is available in the Becket Chapel opposite the main cathedral building.
Key Theatre

The theatre programme is made up of 'home-grown' productions, national touring shows, local community productions & a full programme of one-off concerts.
New Theatre
Peterborough Museum and Art Gallery

The new and improved Peterborough Museum is OPEN once again! The museum reopened in March 2012 further to a major £3.2 million redevelopment, jointly funded by Vivacity, Peterborough City Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The Embankment

The Embankment by the River Nene plays host to many events throughout the year.
Cathedral Square Peterborough

At the heart of the city centre is Peterborough's iconic Guildhall, situated in the midst of many popular shops and eateries. The surrounding area is used for various events, including Farmers Markets every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month and the ever-popular Christmas Light Switch-on every December. The square also features a network of water fountains which are lit up in a colourful display as the evening draw in. Further information on upcoming events can be obtained from the council website.
