Join us as we journey through Holy Week to Easter.

Follow this link for details of the Palm Sunday service on 10th April.

The preacher during Holy Week will be the Rt Revd Donald Allister, Bishop of Peterborough, on the theme Holy Words from Luke for Holy Week.   

Monday 11th, Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th April

5.30pm, Vespers

8.00pm Compline
This ancient, monastic service will be led by the lay clerks and choral scholars of the Cathedral Choir in the wonderfully resonant and atmospheric New Building and Bishop Donald will give an address.

Maundy Thursday, 14th April

10.30am, Maundy Thursday Chrism Eucharist
A moving service at which clergy and laity from all over the diocese come together to reaffirm their ministerial vows.

7.00pm, Commemoration of the Last Supper followed by a Vigil

Good Friday, 15th April 

10.00am  The Good Friday the Walk of Witness
Gathering at the Stanley Recreation Ground and moving to Cathedral Square for a short service followed by hot cross buns at St John's Church.         

12.00 - 2.00pm, Good Friday Meditation, led by Bishop Donald

2.00pm - 3.00pm, Liturgy of the Passion

5.30pm, Evensong

Holy Saturday, 16th April 

8.00pm, Easter Vigil and Confirmation Service
Bishop Donald will both preach and preside. Confirmation candidates from the Cathedral congregation, the King’s School and parishes around the diocese come together for this first celebration of Easter.
