To celebrate the new arrivals, the team at Flag Fen have planned a ewe-nique weekend of events over the August Bank Holiday, allowing visitors to come and meet the new Soay lambs plus, a ram-packed range of activities, crafts and stalls.

Meet the new Soay lambs
Along with coming to meet the new Soay lambs born this August plus, we have lots of activities to enjoy a full day out at Flag Fen:
- Meet the new Soay lambs
- Play a game of Sheep coconut shy
- Face painting
- Get involved with the crafts in the Round House
- Make a Pom-Pom sheep
- Pebble painting- paint your own pebble lamb
- Make your own Lamb mask
Fens Falconry
Fens Falconry joins us this weekend with an exciting display of birds of prey and to deliver vitally important education to promote ecology and conservation.
Sunday 28th August & Monday 29th August
You will see a variety of birds of prey on the Fens Falconry stand. There will be native and more exotic types of falcons, hawks, buzzards as well as the odd owl and eagle. The birds will be on the static stand throughout the event.
Monday 29th August- Flying display 1:15pm
There are many different ways to fly birds of prey, all centring around trust and food. During the 45 minute demonstration you will see gliding, soaring, diving, stooping, hovering and aerial catches.
Lincolnshire spinners & weavers group
Lincolnshire spinners & weavers group are back again to showcase the traditional textile making using Soay and other sheep’s locks. There will be expert demonstrations of the spinning wheel, drop spindle spinning, nalbinding and various types of loom weaving.
Talk to local experts who will have samples of different types of natural fleeces available as well as beautiful handmade wares for sale.
